Final Fantasy 8 problem on PC

Hello,
i got final fantasy 8 and have updated to 1.2 version but still having graphics problems as the screenshot shows they are black blocks around objects and other things does anyone what the problem is, im using windows xp and nvidia 6800 gt i used the geforce update for ff8 but only fuxed video issues.

try turnning off AA anf AAF

tried it and still the same i fixed it now tho in the ff8 config i put software rendering instead of diect3d and works ok

hey BTW, hows the pc version of this? iv only ever played the demo and it was pretty good.

lol its probally because the game is very very old. might not be compatible with many video cards.

well i heard its not as good at Final Fantasy 7 and so far i dont like the who magic system and how things upgrade i dont understand it, ff7, ff9 and ff10 all seem to be much better than 8

thing that pissed me off about FF8 was standing in there for 3 hrs in a battle to fucking draw magic from the monsters

u draw magic abilities from enimies, and from draw points

so only way to get firaga and stuff like that u gotta draw it from a enemy and for a summon i gotta draw them from a boss is this correct
