Thread: Best budget/student notebook

    I have a pretty decent PC at home, but I need something that I will be able take to campus and work. I only need to type and use some office applications, no fancy graphic design or gaming here. Watching dvds would be a nice bonus, but typing is what I need it most for.

    What are your recommendations.

    if all you need is word processing just get a 2nd hand one of ebay and save a fortune on a new one.

    we just picked one up for my dad. Toshiba Satellite Laptop. aTI 9000, 1.8ghz, 30gb hdd, 256mb ram. not bad. it was $499 after mail in rebates, came with free case, canon printer and d-link g-router.
