my codecs have gone mad and i don't know what to do

when i play a movie embedded on a webpage i lose the video controls (play/pause...etc) and instead of the proper sound i get static that can't be controlled by volume control and is so bad it finds it's way through my headphones when the amp is turned off. this happens in videolan too, but media player classic, winamp and QCD work fine.

i've reinstalled KL codec pack 2.5 and it's not helped. anyone got any ideas?

delete the codecpack. run a reg cleaner, clear your cache and reinstall codec pack.

Re-install Windows Media Player. That might fix your problem with embedded video.
