Is it possible to get your saved passwords out of your firefox profile and move them onto another pc?
I just changed pc's today and I can't remember half my passwords

you could just copy the entire profile directory over, i don't know about just the passwords, you might have more luck on the Firefox forums http://forums.mozillazine.org/index.php
The Sexay Half Of ABBA And Max: Freelance Plants
you can back up your profile using MozBackup...it's available here...

not certain it will back up your passwords though. i won't know until i find a need to restore my back up.
Just go to Tools > Options > Privacy > View Saved Passwords > Show Passwords.
Then you'll get the list with all your usernames and passwords along with the sites they're used for.

So I deleted it uninstalled & re-installed but somehow, and I have no clue how, all my passwords are being remembered my firefox when I go to the sites?
Its kind of worrying
all i know is that your passwords are kept in your profile folder in "signons.txt"
That's a good piece of info there mate! Thanks, that will surely come in handy someday I'm sure.Originally Posted by Filliz

Probably not. The info is stored in an encrypted file in your Firefox profile, which in turn resides in a folder with a name that is made up of randomly generated letters and numbers.
The odds of a remote attacker getting past that and the encryption is pretty small...
If a person gets local access, then it's your own fault for not having a password on your Firefox profile.
You can always set a master password on your Password folder to keep nosy people out.
Again go to Tools > Options > Privacy > Saved Passwords > Set Master Password
