What it ratio?, Sometimes I see that in the sites!

ratio is when you download something say 700mb movie and if you were to upload (seed) 700mg you would have a 1.0 ratio. The more you upload the higher your ratio would go and it would mean you were a good seeder.In most private sites they expect you to seed to a 1.1 ratio.

to clarify: you calculate it by dividing total amount uploaded by total amount downloaded (for that specific tracker of course)

But also keep in mind that some sites reward the user for leaving a torrent seeding for a period of time and even if no one grabs it you still get credit added to your ratio.
So best bet is to read the FAQ's or stickies for the tracker where you have a ratio question about and then post a question if you have any confusion, because different sites might have different ways of getting to a ratio of 1.1.

click on a torrent you are downloading and then look in the genral tab in Utorrent and look to your right hand side and you should see "Share Ratio" followed by a # and that is your ratio for that torrent.
