The worst game I have ever played is a game called Septerra Core, worst RPG ever....I cant think how you possibly think populous was one of the worst games ever? For its time it was the first GOD sim ever and was immesely popular.
Another game that I thought was absolutely appauling was the first Nightmare Creatures for PC.Absolute Shite

Out of order
Worse game of all time for me...
Mach Rider for the old 8 bit NES.
It was a crappy motorcycle racing game that for some reason had rubbish on the tracks... usually right on the racing line.
It also had a tacked-on track editor that let you create your own tracks, but you couldnt save them, because the game cartridge had no battery backup.
So you could make tracks, but you couldn't race on them... bloody useless.

It's got to be Last Battle for the Sega Mega Drive/Genisis.
It was a side scrolling game where nearly every level and every enemy were the same except they were different colours. That game was the biggest pile of crap ever and it cost around £30! I think burning the cash would have been more value for money. My mate used to keep lending it off me just for a laugh. Try and download it for an emulator just to see how bad it was.
