You know how on a DVD player and on Mindiscs there is an optical input, well i know that you can get them for PC's, just wondering if anyone had them and how much and istallation etc.

Ok. That is still a very unclear question but...
For audio input/output.
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro External I/O Hub Front/Rear Panel Connectors:
- Optical SPDIF In/Out
Look at the bottom of this page: Click here.
you should get a soundcard that has an optical connection.
try one of these:
Creative Labs Audigy 2
Hercules Fortissimo 2 or Fortissimo 3
and some Nvidia Nforce/Nforce2 motherboards (with onboard audio) come with optical spdif connections.
i'm talking purely about optical outputs. optical inputs are a bit more rare and willy prolly cost you more. oh, and the average PC soundcard does not have a digital decoder-- it just sends a non-decoded digital signal to an external receiver, so you do need to have a separate digital decoder (i.e. a home theater receiver with an optical connection).
