i was thinking about multibooting my other pc, kinda crappy, and putting win 2000 or xp. and win me and maybe a linux distro, probably red hat. is this possible?
and would it involve a seprate partion for each one.
also any other suggestions on linux versions?

You would have to make 4 partitions on your hard drive, i know that for sure. I do not see why iy would be any different than haing 2 OS's on on Pc. why on God's Earth you would want ME on there is beyond me though....

I agree with Xelotath about Windows ME....But if You like it.
And about installing Red Hat, I say download Linux Mandrake 9.0 (3 CD's) The installation of Mandrake is easy, Red Hat I failed to install.

Virtual PC is much safer..
Basicly u can install and run as many o/ses as your HD can store..

You can get over the four primary partition limitation with extended partitions. I saw this article though and someone had around 80 different OS or some crazy shit like that.

Yep.. extended makes the comp think it's 1 partion when u can actually add even more inside dat. pretty cool
