A duck is watching.
Hi, recently i just installed a belkin wireless network, using the ADSL modem/router and two dongle usb adapter connections.
it all seemed to work fine the adapter picked up the signal for both PC's which were on the network, but sometimes when i turn the computer on the internet does not load and the computer freezes and will not respond.
Then i have to resort to either unlugging the computer from the wall or pressing the reset key, then when i turn the computer back on the internet loads and works perfectly.
can comeone tell me why this is happening?

Sounds like a hardware malfunction with your wireless dongle usb adapter connection. Try posting this in hardware world. I don't believe updating the drivers solves a "freeze" issue like this most of the time, so you may need to move the usb adapter to a different port. How old is your motherboard? Try blowing any dust outta the usb ports, it could help.

i'll try putting it into another port if the problem continues, just seems quite weird that the same problem happens on both computers with the donglers though.
I might give Belkin another ring, its a free line lol.
thanks for the reply.
oh by the way i meant to ask, could it be something to do with my firewall?
im using zonealarm and its "sensitive" to say the least.

I doubt Zonealarm is causing the hardware failure, but it may be something very rare. The only way to check would be setting the "Internet" and "Local" bars in Zonealarm to Low to disable it...otherwise you would have to uninstall the software. Zonealarm can't really be closed, since it still runs it's services. Kinda sucks ass really, but oh well.
