Blargh
Hello, i have Ad-aware 6 Professional. And i just was wondering, when i click the icon to update the reference file, before it would say no new file available. and then i would look at the log, and it said "error retrieving update". so then i went to configure the update, and de-selected "use http proxy" and it worked. why is this?

It may be that a default setting such as that won't work with your systems configuration and/or ISP.
Whatever the case may be, other than curiosity, why question it?

I used to have adaware 6 pro, but the build was outdated and couldn't update anymore.

I find having both is essential. When I need to remove spyware I always scan with both programs.
