That's because you know too much about engines - if you were like me and didn't know what a gear-stick grind actually means, you'd be fine about it.

Btw, I honestly don't know what it means when the gear-stick makes a grinding noise but I'm guessing it isn't too serious

If it is your car it's probably ok

On mine it means that two sets of cogs are not meshing properly and are trying to rip the teeth off each other.
