So for only the cost of renting the game, or borrowing it from a friend.. you can own the game. A good option in my opinion.
That's what I have for my Xbox. I see that 360s can be modded now but how about HD hookups?

Can you please explain how that works...

you need an external USB HD? and how do you get the games to work?

you need an IDE hard drive (40gb-120gb) + PS2 network adapter + HDLOADER. Sony PS2 warranty is almost useless.. you can buy different ps2 parts from the internet.

Did anyone read that IKE said he has the PSTwo.

It already has an ethernet port and dial-up jack built in.

There is nothing to slide for the slide card.

the harddrive method does not work for all games. that's the biggest problem with it. other than that, it's the safest way to go. no voiding the warranty, which is pretty useless to begin with, no wearing out of the laser.

yes, using burned dvd's will wear our your laser. there are maybe premium high class dvd-r's that work really well and will not wear out your laser as much as cheaper dvdrs (taiyo yuden, verbatim, and some others)

check forums.afterdawn.com in their ps2 section for very detailed info

i'd recommend u just go and get a mod chip. the warranty is stupid.

and a lot of games won't run properly off an external usb harddrive. if u have the older ps2 where u can install a ps2 harddrive, it has higher chances of compatibility, but still not as good as running burned dvds

Yes its true, the only main problem with the HD method is the compatibility issues. Although I've only come across a few games that I wasn't able to run. Using different modes you can make a game run properly, EX: All EA games run on Mode 3.

And even if you come across a game that wont run in any of the seven modes on HDLoader, you can download patch fixes that will allow the games to run properly. Luckily I do have an older big PS2, so that I can install the HD internally and not have to use a USB HD. The Slim PS2 has a lot of games that aren't compatible.
Peter: Excuse me, is your refrigerator running?
Because if it is, it probably runs like you - very homosexually.
