I meant the japanese version
I meant the japanese version
I currently have the following in my shared folder:
Ghost Ship- not bad, very cool opening scene, good quality
The Shining- the pinnacle of the genre
Long Time Dead- Haven't watched it yet
Thirteen Ghosts- worth watching
Psycho- excellent
The Eye (Japanese)- you have to read subtitles, haven't watched it, got good reviews
Other Good horror:
Ghoststory-1980- Fred Astaire, John Houseman
The Fog- 1980
American Werewolf in London- Horror/Comedy but done well, not silly. The scary parts are well done. Don't walk on the moors at night.
Dressed to Kill- Michael Caine, Angie Dickenson- this is a sleeper
Hell House-1971? -haven't found this on the web
Rosemary's baby- 1969?- excellent
Salems Lot- made for tv movie
Blair Witch- Best watched if you have never heard of it, someone just pops it in the VCR and you watch it with no prior knowledge. The 1st hour the perfect lead in to a ghost story ever. Too bad the movie is 2 hours.
Jaws- although done in 1976, it does not lose anything over time as it does not rely on special effects to make the movie work. The chemistry btw Schieder, Dreyfuss and Quinn(?) is fantastic.
Nightmare on Elm Street 1 is truly frightening
Aren't we in the trust tree, thingey?
House 1 /2
the witch
the stuff
the thing ( wicked film)
mad man
if you find these films on da NET let me Know because these are old films L8 70's early 80's )
Yeah you're right, forgot to mention that one, throwing in the girl with phycic powers was neat.friday the 13th 7 was pretty solid i thought
Indeed it was. But Ringu, the Japanese version, that the film is based on was a little nerve-racking.The ring is a joke... if one considers that scary, they must not have seen many classic horror/scary movies...
I thought of some more good horror films:
Evil Dead (sure Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness were hillarious, but Raimi was honestly going for horror in this one)
Night of the Living Dead
Dawn of the Living Dead
Dont Look Now
and Deliverence (dont even get me started on this one...)
Forgot to add that this site http://www.mrqe.com/ is a great mega-review link if you want to learn something about a movie before downloading.
They also have the 100 most thrilling movies listed, not the same as horror, but some good horror movies in that list.

Cool Site! Just thought Id add, go Horror, for a top 50 horror film list. Although th Sixth Sense as #5 :-" thats a pretty big stretch...
