It stems from the day of the multiple voting system.
Many company owners wouldn't allow their employees to go voting when they received the right to vote.
So the government made it complusory.
That way everyone HAD to go

people complain that voting is pointless so they dont bother to vote, i think were lucky to have a say in the matter, even if all the politicians suck.
Yeah i thing we should also make it compulsory in the the Uk, that way we would get a better result overall.
