    8 ohm speakers will not fry an automotive amp. It is just less efficient.

    And you can run some automotive amps at 2 ohms. (usually good quality amps) as automotive standard is 4 ohms... compared to home systems of 8 ohms. Running a high quality automotive amp at 2 ohms (if it can handle it) will deliver more power than the same amp at 4 ohms.

    The lower the ohms the higher the output an amp will produce (within reason) because of the higher load. (back to ohms law)
