How to install new firmware for dvd drive?

Having trouble using Philips dvd-r's and have found some info saying to update the firmware for my drive, how do I update it?

Downloaded the new firmware and it's a bin file, what do I do with the bin?

well the site you downloaded it from should have some instructions or i wouldn't use that file for flashing

Its easy to do but as Opitumus says it should come with instructions .

Thanks guys, decided not to fiddle with the firmware as there isn't an "official" update.

Took the 100 disc spindle back and exchanged them for Verbatim discs.
