Might not be what you are looking for, but Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles kinda has the same gameplay as Oni..
I remember how how i really liked playing Oni when I got it some years back.

Yep I played it a couple of months ago and guess what it still rocked....
Gameplay,Story,Graphics... It looked like everything was the way it should be.... Not to talk about the great moves and great weapons. Friendly and good items. I think Ive refallen in love... huh

It is an old game but it is newer than oni: true Crime.
I have never played and I wont be able to:Stranglehold.

I have played true crime, and have liked it... I like 3rd person shooter games but well, let me say it no comparison to ONI, maybe closer to GTA, that was it.
