Marriage is the biggest cause of divorce!

Nah if you love someone then just be with them...if you fall out of love then at least there will be no messy divorce!
That is an interesting observation wee mouse!

    What Is Love?
An illusion brought on by excess serotonin and dopamine in the brain

You can artificially recreate it with MDMA/ecstasy.

love is friendship that has caught fire,
it is quiet understanding, mutual cinfidence, sharing and forgiving.

it is loyalty through good and bad times,
it settles for less than perfection, and makes allowances
    for human weaknesses.

love is content with the present, it hopes for the future,
and it doesn't brood over the past.

it's the day-in day-out chronicle of irritations, problems,
compromises, small disappointments, big victories and
    working toward common goals.

if you do not have love in your life,
no matter what else there is, it's not enough.

    There is a difference.

Love induced by ecstasy wares off.

    True love is for life.

I think the divorce rate in most Western countries shows that either very few people find true love or it is an illusion.

well, i think the rate of marriages ending in divorce lately has more to do with people just looking for some one to love them (whether real or not) for the moment and not thinking a year down the line. the problems with all the divorce rate studies is that they are only looking at say the last ten years. they do not take into account at all the people that were married before their time frame and continue to be married after the study. this can seriously skew the results.
