What do you need it for? Do you need wireless? Should it handle many connections (p2p) do you need 10/100 or 1000mbit? how many ports? If you're going for wireless how far away do you want to reach it from (security issue if too far ) And what kind of OS are you running (if you want wireless you can't use WPA2 encryption with windows 2000 and older. Post a little info if you want better answers

    thanks lilpiggie.

-basically i am goin to get a new laptop and another pc
of which all run on XP or higher.

-i want to share my internet with my 3 pc's and 1 laptop.
i only want to share my internet connection all around the home, so i suppose i only need a router (if a router is the best option) that has about a 15 metre radius in range.

-all of my pc's/laptops will not be in the same room, does this mean i need wireless or not?

i will most likely download on all of my pc's/laptops. does this mean i need 10/100 or 1000mbit?

    im on 4meg broadband atm.
-could you give me a specification on what router (if this is the best option for ) will do the job?
thanks any comments will be helpful
