Well, I think meny meny people here have got it all wrong, they dont disable every non swedish user that signs up, it depends on the coutry, But lately they have expanded that banned ip ranges, more and more countries are disabled.
But, the swedvdr staff aswered me like this:
If he can keep a good ratio and follow the rules there should not be a problem with canadian ip

Really poor one, I have no problems at all keeping a high ratio (1:5 in a few days seeding with my home connection at 2.5Mbit)
They have one or two free leech torrents almost everyday, If you just grab one early you can seed really good on it.
