I've been trying to make some video clips for Youtube but I can't because my programs don't recognize the files that are ripped from my DVD's. Anyone know of a program that converts these files into a different format that can be edited? Thanks.

Pinacle studio or Ulead video editor or adobe premier elements allow you to edit your video so I suggest you give anyone of those a try.

Programs with basic functions:
dvd2avi, AnyDVD, AutoGK, many more...
More complex functions:
GordianKnot, AutoMKV (my favorite), and MeGUI
Never personally tried Handbrake so I can't vouch for it.
