If you have Win XP here is some tips to save some space -
    Right click My Computer, Properties.
    Hit the advanced tab.
Hit settings for the first section "Performance", Advanced Tab.
Go to virtual memory and change to whatever size you want I use 0mb.
Now go to the system restore tab, close all Windows except the one you started with. In system restore either turn it off or adjust to what you want using the slider.
One more tip Internet Properties, Temporary Internet Files, Settings, View Files. Use the slider to adjust to whatever size [don't put it too low.] Also this one's a cache what it does if you allow 100mb then 100mb will be the temp internet files limit. So it doesn't affect space until you use your comp more.

unless you have a lot (1024 meg+) of ram, don't get rid of virtual memory

your computer will run slower than if you had some alloted virtual memory

You can safely set the minimum virtual memory to 0MB, just make sure that you set a nonzero maximum, I suggest the same size as your RAM, so that Windows can swap pages of RAM out to disk in case you run out of RAM, and not have to re-organise the PF each time that fills up.

As long as the minimum is 0, you should not have any space consumed (It will use about 10MB always anyway, unless you disable it) by the PF unless you are low on RAM.
