This is quite simple to explain although perhaps you might find this a little unusual.

re for example, often wonder where JPaul or manker is? Yes. of course we all do. Now inadvertently you stumbled onto the solution to this nagging enigma.
Since January 2002, The Internet has been hosted in their heads, and, their usable memory is almost full. Although we all know that JPaul tends to be meticulous ( some say pedantic) with the English language, that's not without a reason. It's his job to ensure that English remains the official Internet language norm, and is used in a correct and pleasing manner.. It's also the reason why he prefers you to type in blue. Blue, strangely uses less bytes than black. When JPaul is at the "end of his Latin" that's where manker comes in. Manker who also keeps disappearing from the board sometimes for months at a time...is like JPaul's external hard disk...and is totally fool... of all sorts of idiosyncrasies saved to that location by JPaul. In any case, in the future, the Internet is considering recruiting members directly from our very own Bittorrent forum. Our members who frequent the Bittorrent forums. are renowned for their empty heads, an ideal place to host more Internet thus. So the answers is yes, He is running out of space but no don't worry, a new, re-movable media source is being drilled right at this very moment..

I found the above strangely reassuring.

Which in itself must be a worry

Was it in a "there's always someone more mental than I" kind of way?

    If so, that's perfectly normal.
