New trackers.....

i have been torrenting since suprnova (no idea how long).......and i got on the scene last year around this time when demonoid had down time.....i had no where to go except for isohunt...the black hole of torrenting (public trackers)...anyone who says they knowingly seed 1:1 is a liar....its literally every man for himself out there....people fight tooth and nail for any sort of bandwith....its like a 5th world country....after i got on the scene i first got to revtt then tl then tvt.com and it progressed lada lada lada........my point is that yea there are new users nothing that TL or RevTT or Demonoid who are still to this day EXPANDING....its not like its the big crunch where everyone needs to open up a tracker to get there 15mins of fame or save torrents....trackers and bittorrent arent going anywhere for a long time and as long as the big boys (fl, demonoid, scc, basically large userbased sites) they can handle and actually encourage the flux of new users


and to quote stoi....."We are discussing banning Brazil and Israel atm" i think the fact that there is language barrier promotes non-english speaking users to cheat, trade, or create dupes....which in a sense is understandable but certainly annoying, its probably unfair and inmoral to ban an entire country but garuentee if they knew the language most of them wouldnt resort to such primitive measures

i think i had at least 15 offers to join new (invite only) trackers during the last six month and i only joined one of them.

Can You tell us which one have You choose?

Stoi has made a very good point in that advertising a site on a public tracker might give you a good start in getting members since back in the day when Suprnova was around some of private trackers back then would up a torrent to it and when a user tried to download it there would be a comment saying that they needed to go to www.nameoftracker.com and sign up and of course the user limit would depend on what the staff of the site in question decided on.

Or the staff could decide to make the torrent in question a freebie and allow the user to download off what ever public tracker and maybe leave a comment like for more torrents like these signup at www.nameoftracker.com before we reach our user limit.

Yes I know the above steps are risky but I think you would gain more from it then posting here since there is already alot of tough competition here on FST and like stoi said most users already have there sites were they get there stuff at.

As for everyone starting trackers I could careless but I wont be signing up to them unless I truly trust the staff, since with all the holes that the different BT sources have it could be a nightmare if a site gets hacked because a hole was not patched and the database is released like it has been done in the past on a few sites.

there are plenty trackers for english speaking people as there is, why join a foreign one.

and if they are foreign, and cant speak English, and there is no tracker in your language, then create one.

One of our admins is from Brazil, he is an excelent member. but having the rules and FAQ translated into 160 different languages just is not possible im afraid.

TL is closed. Demonoid is semi public, SCC is closed, RevTT is closed (you cant say they have invites is open, because its not).

lvl 1-2 trackers are open, but for some reason, as soon as a member from those gets into a lvl4-10 tracker, they forget all about the lvl 1-2. Why?

this is where you should be inviting from, not on here to total strangers, but the lower lvl trackers, if you see someone busting a gut on there, invite them to a lvl 3-4 tracker and so on.

peope dismiss the low lvl trackers, but they are more important than you think, without them, we would be stuck in a rut.

This is what i dont understand about new trackers, only advertising here. like i said, most members from here (and its only 74,000 members and they dont prune accounts, ive still got friends on here from 2002, that have not been seen on here since 2003) all have most trackers, or their fair share anyway, so why would you want another one.

The places to get members is the link sites, i would say a lot of our good members we got from mininova, and they have moved up that list as well to other trackers.

I have just uploaded our 5 best seeded torrents onto mininova. when i do that the comments are, wtf, 800 seeds, damn, they have never seen anything like it on a game lol

and i have to say, that since we opened we have got a few decent members in.

Lets all be honest........are there many israeli trackers? no, are there good israeli movies? no.

That aside why wouldnt you join an English tracker or for that matter a HQ site? With crappy connections and horrible english to even to attempt to ask for help is a REASON why they are what they are known for. They probably have some dialup crap connection and cheating is almost the ONLY way out for them.....I dont blame them, heck i would if i was in their position

Why do they not create trackers?
1) competition, if its not "rare" people arent going to talk about it, if they dont talk then word doesnt get around
2) whose going to upload HEBREW only torrents and wut type of axx is that? hardly none would be my guess
3) it takes money and a coder to make a decent site
4) the demand is ENGLISH, not hebrew which would make the userbase next to nothing, some of these guys cant even survive on demonoids ratio requirements which is more like for every 1 GB upload 1KB (certainly close to it)

Fame, glory, a chance to l33t on the internet? Tell us you primary reason why you created a tracker so we can try to see whats the actual logic behind it.

oh gosh this is terrible banning countries .. i am sure you have your reasons, but isnt it possible to let some worthy members? I am not brazilian or smt... I just dont like others to judge a country bec of some cheaters. Maybe we can create a place in which people from certain areas can come together and meet with staff or so forth so that they can be accepted as members. If that is possible, I shall emphasize it, i know you have your reasons but...

also admin is right about the foreign language... My friend got polish tracker from someone, i said to him, you cant even read the rules, how will ya use this site? anyway the only reason i can think of to get foreign invites would be to get foreign content for language studies and so forth... otherwise, it is not wise to get polish tracker for example since you cannot even read rules even though it has english forum :S

Well BCG was one of the first trackers, i created it in 2003, albeit a public tracker, we turned private in 2005 (i think)

I did not create it for fame, or recognition, i was sick of going to 20 other places and using kazza at the time as well to get the games i wanted, so thats why i created it.

Bitconsole was about, but we still survived. if i thought back then, well Bitconsole is there, solops is there, why bother, then we would not have BCG now.

Its like we have other trackers in the pipeline, specialist trackers that are linked to BCG (same members), is the fact there is already a lot of trackers putting me off NO. why? because i know we can run a tracker, and a big tracker at that.

OK running a tracker is not easy, but its also not that hard either, same as torrents, if you spend 15 minutes reading the rules and FAQ and ask questions, then you know how to torrent with the best of them, its not brain surgery.

Just look at what happened with Oink, they closed it down and it was like, wtf, where are we going to go for our music now, ok 2 took the place of 1, but for a week or so it was panic stations for a bit lol

all im trying to say is, just because your a member of such and such a tracker, does not mean someone else is a member of any, or even know they exist.

as to your language thing, whats the point in downloading an English language movie if you dont speak English.

and we have SP on BCG, there is no need to bloody cheat, its just greed, not a language barrier.
