    Yes it's like an internal USB drive just for this. I never saw the point of ready boost really.

    It does do something.

    If nothing else, it makes those folder thumbnails load instantly.

    I bought a usb thumbdrive thingy a few weeks ago just to try readyboost.

    I did too a while back before I built the HTPC to use with my DVD player so I didn't have to burn any DVD's and I could watch movies from it. I tried the readyboost and couldn't for the life of me see what it did.

    I hope for you that the notebook came at least with 2 year waranty. The heating problems of alienware are very bad, the graphics card in my m5550 just fried a month ago after only 18 months of usage.
    If you want to prevent that you should use a notebook cooler!

    But hey... its an awsome system. Only the 1920x1200 screen is missing

    EDIT: Just saw that it has 3 years. Thats perfect
