i remember the first site to do it fake log in screen very small site but many staffers belong to it and have followed suit,
sort of the same as not using torrent in the site name :-/

Basically correct. But as mentioned already, everyone that does research knows too much to be fooled in the long-run. And only people who look for information / are familiar with such strategies see this thread. We can talk openly here, it won't have a big effect, at least that's what I think at the moment. Those who don't know they can read up on the topic or lack approach, who have no time, no motivation, etc. all have no clue. This is the majority and we can try to tell them as much as we want, it will not reach them. Why poison the community by distrusting your neighbor when the word anyway dries out. False paranoia is bad and destroys filesharing from within.
