    I've been seeding 24/7 on an external 500GB WD My Book, ever since I got the thing back in June or July, and I haven't experienced any problems with it. It doesn't even get hot


    I am a exsellent speller and I use grammer very good.

    nail on the head. pretty much every external hard drive is meant for the storage/archive of files, and they are in fact not meant to be used regularly (although they still can be, its just not recommended) there is a small chance that regular use will shorten the life or break your hard drive eventually
