Actually he does the tiptoe thing and they film the reaction then hoist him later on.

You will notice the cam looks over a shoulder to make it look like a person and they use a double when they hoist him up.

There are no mirrors.............just a hoist

@Fungly..........He supposedly made the Eifle tower vanish in front of a live audience too See above for answer, they film the reaction to the same trick done to a lesser degree then refilm the stunt with wires etc
