i've tried running with vsync on and off, plus at different refresh rates with vsync both on and off...guess i'll just give up with this until i get Half Life 2Originally posted by brax@28 September 2003 - 04:36
sorry i guess its not technically a crack, i just used that for lack of a better word. (What would you call it? Ripped?)
Another thing that might be some peoples problem is that the game itself has a fix for the refresh rates, so if you are running another program to do that, it might be causing conflicts with halo. Those getting errors may want to check it out.

hmmmmm, I'm using the gforce fx 5200 too and I get no lag. It runs very smooth even during large battle scenes.Originally posted by abu_has_the_power@28 September 2003 - 04:39

I did turn off the specular option, as it did run choppy with that on, but all the other options are turned on, and I'm running at 1024x768 75hz refresh rate.

Graphics cards aren't the only things which effect FPS RAM and the processor both effect the performance greatly, so he's probably running a different system.
Also, whats with this attraction to 5200's? Theyre garbage! Even for their price!

hehe, it came with my pc, and I cant upgrade my vid card yet.
Besides it plays games that I couldn't play before (halo) so I'm happy fer now. When ya consider I used to have a evga geforce2 32MB vid card, this gforce fx 5200 is MUCH better.
oh yeah, i'm running a p4 2.8 ghz and 512mb PC-3200 400MHz RAM.
yea, my old vd card had 11 mbs of memory. lol. it was top of the line 4 years ago. lol. so my gforce fx 5200 on my new pc is much better, and it plays all the games that just came out
did you try running the game with specular turned off yet? I bet it'll help.Originally posted by abu_has_the_power@28 September 2003 - 16:13

I think it puts reflections on objects, although I'm not real sure. Either way I, personally, don't notice a big change in quality with it off.
