I had AVG free edition....it cost me a hard drive...now I run Norton... seems to do the job
It's not possible, no virus, no software & no antivirus can dammage hardware.
What you're saying is pointless
I'm using AVG7 Pro alongside Panda Platinum 7.0. I have had no problems with AVG7. The interface has changed since version 6 but it does it's work as it should be so why call it crap???btw, if you download AVG Free Edition it will be AVG6 so if that's what you're looking for.. you've got it.

Thanks nostagia. But i've been told that AVG7 pro was a ressource hog like norton 2003 or 2004, and that the features more he got comparated to the free version are useless

I'll think AVG Free ediotn is good enough but to be honest, I recommend having a 2nd one as a back up (like I have with Panda Platinum).

ive never had any problems with AVG 7 Pro, i think it uses less resources than the free version
Download, install and use AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition and get:
AVG Resident Protection
AVG Email Scanner
AVG On-Demand Scanner
Basic Scheduled Tests
Free Virus Database Updates
Automatic Update feature
Easy-To-Use Interface
Automatic Healing of infected files
AVG Virus Vault for safe handling of infected files
Basic user Interface only
Disabled Advanced Scheduling of Tests
Disabled Creating of Your Own Tests
No Technical Support
So why should i get the pro ?
It has a few more features and only involves getting a dodgey serial number, why else?Originally posted by sharedholder@11 October 2003 - 09:49

Why the hell would you have two antivirus programs running? That doesnt make much sense and you can seriously damage your computer by running different av's on top of each other.Originally posted by nostalgia@11 October 2003 - 02:55
