I think that the buyer was insane to place a large bid on something that the seller was not sure of what he was selling. He said he had no idea what the things were and did not say any of the items were authentic.
I checked that law on selling counterfiet products and nowhere does it say "unknowingly". Meaning that if you sold it unknowingly as a genuine product.

The ebay counter on that item is almost 1 million!!!!!! It gets 24 hits a second. The item was sold in Sept. 22 2003.
