new asus p5g41-m-la/csm its built in aethos lan seems to be the problem, reinstalled driver to no avail im spent right now but ill check tomorow hoping to get some help

Is your router assigning IPs via DHCP or are you using manually assigned ones?

the router should be assiging ip but the damn lan connection stinks im gonna try to re dl the aethos lan driver again

I'd check device manager to see if it even recognizes it. If so try to ping home (127.0.0.1). If you get a reply then it's not your NIC. Keep moving down the line and try to ping the router, then the DNS server, then google or something. Hope that helps. Once I download the driver, I usually put a CD of the NIC driver inside the computer case cause if it doesn't work, you can't go out to the internet and get it (on the off chance it's my only working computer).

What drivers did you install? You sure you installed the chipset drivers? No internet sounds weird.

nothing tried winsock repair still nothing im done ill just have to get a semi new one thaT WORKS
