If everyday people are using these things, it is a clear illustration of how selfish people are. Your life and time is so much more important then everyone else so you need a device to change traffic lights. It doesn't seem right or safe to me. Emergency vehicles need them; Soccer Mom and Dad, in their huge SUV do not.

it's a joke ....right?
If you attack the establishment long enough and hard enough, they will make you a member of it.

No, it's not a joke but you can easily get caught if you use one.
It's illegal to use unless it's really an official emergency.
Get ready for a major fine and quite possibly jail time if you try to use is as an average citizen
Edit: Oh, and I just forgot... What does this have to do with software anyway?

I think it will be safer just to go through the red light then let everyone else believe the lights are really green.
If the fire truck already has a green light, the light will remain green. Any other direction that also has a green light (usually the opposite direction) will first get a yellow light, then red.
Do you know how much people floor it when the light goes yellow ??
