I enjoyed that somewhat, but it was nothing like the book, or the characters in it.

I gave the first 4 eps a shot one night due to recs here, and the high scores. The show works, but I was expecting more laughs going in. What it does succeed in doing is showing a good cross section of life now- as opposed to what I (I'm now 39 and grew up in all-white, no outwardly ghey Northern Idaho) would have expected typical life to become. Ironically, it fits my life a bit because I got twins, one with Down's- when I really doubted ever having kids. Life...

As for the show, I'll venture forth- hoping for a bit more comedy as the characters develop a bit more.

I'm actually starting to get annoyed about the Dirk Gently thing.

The Short Bright Elevenses of the Body?

I recommend Terriers for another PI show.

things are quiet until hitler decides he'd like to invade russia
    so, he does
the russians are like "OMG WTF D00DZ, STOP TKING"
and the germans are still like "omg ph34r n00bz"
the russians fall back, all the way to moscow
and then they all begin h4xing, which brings on the russian winter
the germans are like "wtf, h4x"

Watched it and sort of enjoyed it but wished it had been more Adamsish.

I mean why have the piece about the exam papers in but then pointlessly changing it? In the book he made the papers up based on old ones and inter-connectedly got it right to the exact wording - hence his stint in prison.

No problem with the presentation just stick to Adam's vision, as JP said, Cunts!

    Well said, Les.

It should have been done in the same way Sky do the Pratchett stuff. Couple of 2 hour shows with movie production qualities. I've loved all of those, really well done.
