Ok, this was originally about HDBits.org, but looks like invites are closed, so I'm making a request first for some information, then possibly some invites.
I'm a member of PTN and PTP, as well as a prolific user of IPT and public. I never use DDL or Usenet, because those need money to use to the max. Do I need a dedicated HD site? If so, what would be good? Reasons listed are below.
Here is why you shouldn't invite me:
- I watch 720p movies on a 14" laptop with 1440x900 res.
- I use a Sennheiser 202
- I watch movies in phases, so if I move out of my movie phase, I'll probably be inactive for a little while.
- I'll be inactive during the summers, when I'm on a dial-up connection instead of a 2MB/s college one
- I never watch 1080p, because my HDD space is limited and my screen's not big enough
- I don't own a singly Bluray nor have the equipment to play an actual disk.
Here is why you should invite me:
- I am OCD about quality - I'd rather go for the untouched DVD rather than watch a shitty encode
- I am OCD about transparency - if I don't think an encode is transparent, my viewing experience is that much diminished
- I am OCD about seeding - if I'm at a site that logs the snatch list, I'll seed forever just so my seeding list = my snatch list
- I watch 2 movies a day
- I recently started a movie club that tries to watch a movie a week (this is on a proper 32" 720p screen and nice speakers
I'll add more as I think about it. I really don't like making requests - I'd rather join through open signups rather than take an invite from someone, but as I understand it, HDBits never opens.
