The idea (as explained by my friend) is that your body is producing acids. Antacids neutralize what is there, but that doesn't stop your body from producing more, which requires more antacids.

I might not have it right, but it was something on those lines.

I heard the same thing once about conditioner and scalp oiliness, but I don't know if there's anything to back that up. Replacing what's missing works, obviously, but inducing cessation or recession is voodoo.

Admittedly, it is something I have not tried myself. I've known this friend for over a decade now, and he's not a troll or an idiot. He says he's been using it. And, for whatever reason, feels it works.
