Best news I've heard in a while my friend. For the first time in my life, I've got pretty good insurance. The total cost is still rising, but it will be $200k+, including my 1-week return visit due to Acute Respiratory Failure. Our out of pocket expense will be approx. $4k. For once, I feel like I'm ahead of the game when it comes to insurance-- a lifetime of paying in, no previous benefits...
The hospital I went to has been the #2 heart institute in the country for several years-- I believe that has drawn a significant group of talented doctors. They saw us through my wife's breast cancer, as well as my son's heart valve replacements. Good hands.
