    Don't use a pin. Use a paperclip.

The release mechanism is quite deep.

No. In fact you might need to straighten it even more than that picture for it to be long enough.

thanks for ur valuble suggestion YES the power cable is connected
But whenever i press eject button the light blinks which means its trying to open its mouth but cannot. Its stuck somewhere Sometimes it does open the mouth and accept the CD. i think the dust is playing the role I guess i have to either consult a doctor or become a doctor myself
Becoming a doctor myself has its own share of problems
    -Openning a mouth becomes risky
    -I might disturb the lens
    -i get scolding
-I'll be under most wanted list if seen anywhere around P.C
thank u very much i tried my best i even used the clip which was considered the best idea of the day but its just not happening I m really attached to my CD writer I just cant throw it awayi m not an expert in troublshooting CD writer but i want to do it on my OWN KINDLY suggest anysite that deals with troubleshooting CDROM's unpredictable GESTURES so that i can open its mouth safely without getting noticed

    THE END
sad ending is'nt it (Man i dont even have a proper similie to cry)
