He (Trump) had been laying the groundwork that the election was rigged if he didn't win for several months. Trump's own intelligence community and been warning that something bad might happen. He (Trump) directly told then to go to the Capital. He told then to "fight." The protesters/mob/rioters/whatever you want to call them had no legal recourse left against what they felt as a "stolen" election. What else could anyone think was going to happen? That an inflamed and partly armed mob was going to go to the Capital and have a civil discourse or sit placidly on their hands or something.

Like I said earlier, cause and effect. If Trump and his minions hadn't diligently played up the lie about election rigging or hadn't orchestrated the march to/against the Capital or lots of other things then I could agree there was no incitement.
If wood is green it's almost impossible to get it to burn. On the other hand it takes very little to start a flame if you prepare the kindling well enough.
