    But..........

Is it then WRONG to share Fake porn movies?

    eg:
Instead of "its hot n juicy shemale acion"
    you actually share 'Harry Potter"?
I'd much rather watch Harry Potter.

I usually preview mp3 and films as they are downloading to make sure they are correct, otherwise cancel/delete them.

You arent a leech if you verify the things you download before sharing them.

So do you call someone a leech if they don't share their downloads if they share gigabytes of verified, tested, and used stuff, and filter their downloads into those folders as they have time to verify them? I think it's a smart way to eliminate fakes on the network. Sharman dug their own grave forcing downloads to be shared with limited recourse against fakes. If you try to delete the file and someone is downloading it from you, Windows won't let you delete it, rename it, or change the Meta data to label it as a fake.
Nope. Do almost the same thing myself. The only difference is that my dl folder is titled Unsorted. That way I can make it available on networks like SoulSeek where folks can dl at their own discretion. Other than that, I don't share anything until I've verified the quality.

C'mon you all Know that you cannot share partially downloaded files on this fasttrack client. So all this verifying files before share is a load of of bullshit. Open your shared file folders so we can all see what you got and what you like, asif lmfao. No more of this security bollix stand up and be counted, I do and shall continue to do so.
I suspect that people who do do not open up their shared folders must be hiding something , from whom I dare not imagine. torches under blankets in the deep of the night spring to mind. If you are prepared to download files from known sources why not open up and do for others as they are prepared to do for you.

P.S. When I first started using this Fasttrack P2P network there were only 2000 of us online, so don't try the bollox m8.

Hoping your blankets stick together ;-)) share your files or your'e probably a stinking copper, pointy head and all that stuff

You are the REAL backbone of this network. Your upload bandwidth is tied up nearly completely and uploaded amounts per day probably total in the GB's.

And many people will hate you for "not sharing".

But I won't -- I see that anyone sharing files to the point that they already have their upload bandwidth maxed out really CAN'T share much more. No more 'speed' can be gained by sharing more files.

Not everyone can (or WILL) be music sharers. We SHOULDN'T expect them to all be even if they do download music. We should just expect nearly everyone to share something and understand that when we download faster than we upload we are only doing it at the expense of others. For the small few who get sued, that expense may be great indeed!

It all depends on the kindness of strangers -- something which cannot be forced.

    wtf are you talking about?

You can verify files while you are downloading, and if you find it's fake can delete before file is complete.

I share files, that does not mean I need to advertise the list of what files I have to share. If someone searches for a file that I have then they will find it, and the only way they could try to search my files is if they are uploading from me, or I from them.

Think you should think before you speak next time.

Ironically you say you don't share music, however you share music videos. The videos are still copyrighted material and the RIAA/MPAA could still sue you.
Do you have anything to back this up? I have not heard of RIAA going after anyone for sharing music videos. BTW, MPAA deals with motion pictures - they wouldn't care about music videos.

I've always thought it was funny.... Avril Lavigne's song Complicated was one of the biggest songs that the RIAA cracked down on. Popular song, on the radio... yet it's legal AFAIK to download the video, or one of the homemade videos, and use TMPGEnc to make an mp3 of the audio track. I've done that with a few songs where I didn't want to download a song, but I had the video.

Here's why RIAA won't go after people downloading music videos. They're ads. Some bands, such as TOOL, make it into an art form, but a music video is a form of advertising for the album. You can only find music videos of popular songs (unless it's homemade) so you're not downloading the filler tracks they don't want you to hear unless you buy the album. (So, why they're busting people for sharing Avril's song Complicated, the popular one on radio and MTV, and not, say, the title track, or another unknown song, is beyond me.)

Welshm8 - Your rank of Newbie and your claim that you were one of the first 2000 people online with Fasttrack speaks for themselves about your post. No, people can't download your incompletes, but they can download your completed downloads that finished when you're sleeping or at work.

What do people have to hide? Mp3s for one. In the USA, you don't want to be sharing them, because RIAA can sue you. They have no jurisdiction outside the US, but I'd be careful in the UK... lately Blair seems to be following Bush everywhere.

I say, if you're downloading 10 kinds of files (e.g. porn, music videos, movies, music, pictures of hot cars, eBooks, etc.) and it's illegal for you to be sharing music, I say don't share music and let your upload slots fill up with everything else.

Actually *hangs head* I'm no longer the backbone of the network - I use eMule now. I had a list of like 20 Evanescence songs on K Lite, for months... I searched eMule and found a "discography archive," a RAR archive that had EVERY song Evanescence had ever done, and that downloaded in like 2 days. K Lite has officially been 0wn3d. So, I run eMule.

eMule lets you (forces you to) share, including your downloads, so new files get out faster. Plus, it only lets you share so many files. So pick carefully. I share my .hack//SIGN episodes (I have the whole series) because it's my favorite and I like people downloading it; some of my programs, my games, my movies, and of course the discography archives. Do they have them on K Lite? Search for Discography, and see what you get. You're looking for 600-2000MB RAR/ACE/ZIP archives. Size depending on how many albums they put out. Rolling Stones is 2.4GB, AC/DC was 1.7GB, and Evanescence was like 800MB. (Yes, they have more than that one great album they released... a lot more.)

    And by the way...
share your files or your'e probably a stinking copper, pointy head and all that stuff
I'm not a copper (police officer) but I do work in law enforcement... and I download music and movies off the Net. What you gonna do about it?
