If it is apple the glass is half empty, if it is lager the glass is half full.
It's a relativity thing. As Einstein explain it, sit on a hot stove for 5 seconds it seems like half an hour. Sit a pretty girl on your knee for half an hour, it seems like 5 seconds.

If it's half full, the glass needs topping up.
The same applies for a half empty glass.
If the glass is anything but full, all it means is that you have a lazy waiter.
