Thread: Northbridge Overheating

    on the new boards the thermal sensor is placed very close to the northbridge i believe. thus, when the northbridge outputs more heat, the surrounding area gets hotter too. doesnt mean that the nb itself is that hot tho.


    my zalman gets hot quite often, and a thermal diode reading makes it out to be about 5-7° hotter than the CPU itself. its how these things work.

    40° isn't hot and shouldn't feel hot. Your body temp is 37°.

    50° isn't even extreme. If your system is stable then why worry.

    Maybe just a fan added to blow towards the heatsink would keep it cool overclocked.

    thnx guyz i think ill jus buy some thermal paste and put it on...

    and no my board didnt blow up

    if you tweake&#39;d or set any options on aggressive reset back to default.the nouthbridge controlls the memory bandwith easin it should obviously chill abit....
