When I play a file, only the divx symbol appears in the bottom of a blck screen, and then fades away. Is it a bad copy of the movie, and should I download another one?

how large is the file?
where did you get it from?
what is the name?
what version of divx are you using (or are you using the k-lite codec pack)?
what video player are you using?
