seriously?
    Sure.

The inclusion of such parties provides our Canadian friends with comic relief at election time; would that we had similar sensibilities here in the U.S.-I really think we could use a few more laughs over the upcoming election season.

True enough, Hank, but that's just a simple majority of us laughing, as the Dems would never laugh at themselves.

We need a party with a more universal appeal, I think.

The "Kegger" party; something like that.

Rat- I have vague memories of that which you speak; it was an appropriately named confab, as I remember.

The Party is still going strong, however Screaming Lord Sutch had a certain "Carisma" about him... that left the opposition candidates looking the twits

I could have sworn that the Democrats got the Majority of the votes last time, and ive always found Conservatives the ones unable to laugh at themselves...

....actually, they nominated Bush last time to stand...so that comment falls down flat.

    My Appologies...

RF three recounts later and Bush still one. Get over it Al Gore lost, and for which I am thankful everyday.

Irrespective of Florida (The Gore Exception)...

    Who won the popular vote?

    ie "The Majority"?

    Rat-

Bush won Florida outright, as I have said many times previously.

As to why a pure majority of the popular vote is not sufficient to win a Presidential election, please do a bit of reading:

    http://usinfo.state.gov/dhr/democracy/elec...ct_college.html

As you will see, the Electoral College was instituted in what was certainly one of the Framer's first steps to incorporate "fairness" into our Constitution.

    I quote again...

I never brought any election result into the conversation... the subject was "Simple Majority".. ie Popular Vote.

Democrats have that... ie they are the majority...

I will agree with you however, in that the Republicans are simple

I certainly didnt mean to upset y'all
