    and yes i have one my shared folder for kazaa, overnet and ares combined

    And this probably explains the cause of many so called "corrupted files".

    Kazaa doesn&#39;t give the files their final filename until the download is completed, and hides those it is downloading, so preventing others from downloading partially completed files.

    Other systems use different methods.

    By using the same folder for all your downloads you make partially completed files from one p2p network available to the other networks. The result is blank files, whistles, shrieks, bad movies, etc. The RIAA don&#39;t need to do anything, do they.

    never had a problem with people trying to download downloadxxxxxxxxxxxx.dat
    overnet has a temp folder remember? it holds all the parts
    ares always has this funny label like ___sadfasfsdf__ on downloading files i doubt people will download those

    Partition the hard drive.

    Use C: for your operating system etc.

    Store media and data files elsewhere. Then if you need to format C: you can do it without worrying about your actual data.

    Do not FDISK tho&#39; as it will clear all of the partitions. If you need to FDISK then you will have to recover all of the data from your back-ups.
