Thread: I Bumped My Cd Tray, Can It Be Fixed?

    This is what I mean:



    This little pinhole allows you to loosen up the tray mechanism so that you can open/close the tray manually.
    Just remember to turn off your computer before doing anything.

    Oh, ok I see it now...

    so you just turn a paper clip in side there?

    just put the end of it in there and it should do it... if it doesnt turn it

    i said use somethiong to pull it out... it always works... lolz datz wat i do wen itz jammed up... i use it to pull it out a litto then use my hand to pull it!

    Well that sounds like it could strip the gears, soul814...

    I am going to try the paper clip thing later

    paper clip worth a try, for gods sake don't just jank it! odds are u've knocked it off it's tracks. If u have take the whole cd out strip it down and reseat the trays teeth on the cog, its a bit trial and error getting the right position so it fully closes without flying open straight away but it's usually possible

    lol no my cd rom drive didnt break yet... i did use a fork on teh school computer when it wouldn't open tho lolz
