I think it's a horrible idea to allow members to change thread titles.

PM a mod and they change it.

Very simple.

I have done this at least 3 times in the past and it works perfectly.

According members with this feature can easily lead to abuse.

PM a mod.

As a matter of fact I just used the report button on my first post.

I remember IKE changing one for me. He's pretty good at administrative stuff like that.

Totally agree.

Imagine the Lounge with the 'feature' turned on. Total chaos with 48 hours.

thanks for the trust. [/b][/quote]
I remember samsam making threads like:

sam

samsamsamsam

sam4

sam again

or some shits like that

Trust?

Why not everyone a mod then?

Do it right the first time and if you don't them no big deal it's not the end of the world.

I could write in chickenscratch and you a short novel flawlessly, it's not going to make you look any cooler.

it's not that it's a big deal, it's just irritating.
the majority wouldn't even use the 'feature', and the large portion that did use it would only use it for corrections.
only a small handfull would use it for any sort of perceived mayhem.
and, assuming someone noticed, the thread could just be locked.

but...whateverwhatever.

this post is guaranteed 100% parrot-free

how about a new member group where only responsible people (people known to be helpful and seem responsible) as seen by admins and mods can be added.

this special group will be allowed to create polls, edit their titles, and other little things like that, possibly have a special forum section kind of like teamchat.

dumb idea, but smart too.

Privileges like this have been brought up in the past, but it's never been done due to the fact that it'd bring the problem of elitism into the board.

Damn - Who'd have thought I'd have a post only three lines long?
