update, I got it to work. I extracted the ISO with Qwix then used FlashFXP to xfer the file. and the game is playable.... Thx guys!
The ISO files that are made from an Xbox DVD are in a special format. I don't remember exactly what the format is, but it was explained to me that they are reverse images of a normal ISO: First sector is last and last is first. You can't read these ISO's with a normal ISO program like WINISO or ISOBUSTER. In fact, I use WinISO as a quick check to see if an ISO is in the correct format for the Xbox...if WINISO returns a "CPP" error, I know that the ISO is in Xbox format.
The program I like to use is SimpleX. However: Craxion and Qwix also can extract an ISO into the directory of your choice with all of the actual directories and files. In addition, all three of these programs will then change the "Default.xbe" so that it can run from your hard drive, or from a burned disc. You simply run the program, choose "Extract ISO", pick a destination directory and wait.
Once the ISO is extracted into it's own directory, you can just go into FlashFxp and send the directory you put everything into straight to the E:\Games directory. So, for example, you could download Killzone.rar, extract the rar's into an ISO, run SimpleX to extract the files into your C:\Games\Killzone directory, run FlashFxp, transfer the whole C:\Games\Killzone directory to E:\Games so that you now have an E:\Games\Killzone directory, start up Evox, MXM, Avalaunch, or UltimateX and run the game!
Those same programs that extract ISO's into regular files and directories can also take a directory and turn it into an Xbox compatible ISO, so don't feel like you need to save both versions on your computer. I prefer to save the ISO and throw away the extracted files and directories after I transfer, but it's your choice.
Good Luck.
Ok, Singaboy said it best and said it the simplest, sorry for the long previous post.
Singaboy, I don't need to see your sig, since I have all of the tools I need, but my question to you is: how do you make your sig show? With this new forum, I don't see any signatures. Just curious.
Cool, didn't think about that. Thanks for the tip Singaboiy!
