well, if you are liike your name said...hardcoregamer, i suggest getting the amd system rather than the celeron d....even though the celeron d is a bit faster than the celeron and it has great potential for ocing....it still wouldnt be as good as that amd system.
Hardcore gamer, he has $1000, he can get better stuff then that.
Try to get like a 64 3200 OR even a 2500XP @ 3200XP, and get like a 6800GT.
[SIZE=1]AMD 4200 X2 @ 2.65Ghz, ASRock 939-VSTA
1.75GB PC3200, 2 X 160GB Seagate w/ 8MB Buffer
HIS Radeon X800 Pro, Antec Super Lanboy Aluminum
OK heres my 2 cents
AMD Athlon xp 2500+ or above 100+
Abit or Asus mobo with nForce 2 chipsets 100
2x 512 DDR400 ram 150+
ATI X800 Pro 400
any cool looking case 75
keep your current hard drive and disks 0
and money to spare!!

Keep in mind the prices of the systems is without the lcd monitor included.
@Mr. Elmo - When OC to over 4 GHz (on stock) the Celeron D above nearly performs as good as an Intel P4 3.2 in most benchies. And better then the Athlon.
