    No I havent but I didn't think the old bits in my old pc will be compatible with it

    k,

    Try this: Check all the connectiors are the way they spose to be, and coonected properly,
    infact, check all the cables in the box, just in case. Reboot and see what happens.

    If it dont help, reboot to Bios,
    Load the Default Settings for Bios, reboot and see what happens, if it dont help, shut down PC and take off power cable,
    then reset CMOS usually by jumper, check the manual where it is, if you dont have one, download it.
    Then boot to Bios and Load the Defaults again, then reboot and see what happens.

    Or, you could try some dos tools to check what infos you get out of hardware.

    That's the way I would start atleast....

    What stupid sod put single settings on the jumpers?

    I just thought having it as master as it was on its own would be the right thing to do

    Best part of 3 hours I have spent fretting over it

    Hehe, nice you got it sorted.

    Been cussing those jumpers on HDD's meself also.
    And then we have partitions like Logical etc...

    I read and read but the data does not compute, hah.

    Im no Hardware Geek. It can be extremely un-interesting.
